Service Information:

Jerry Wayne Pierce, 76, of Spencer, went to be with the Lord on Good Friday, April 14, 2017.  He was born to the late Cleo and Willena Pierce on June 4, 1940 in Indianapolis.  He was a retired over the road truck driver for Consolidated Freight Ways.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Cindy (Eubanks) Pierce, his brother, Phillip Pierce, sister, Janet Dixon, and many friends.

He leaves behind his five children whom he cherished and was so proud of, Cheryl Smithey (Mitchell) of Texas, Larry Pierce (Julie) of Camby, Cindy Gootee of Indianapolis, Cathy Bates (Barry) of Michigan, and Jerry Pierce (Kelly) of Stilesville.  He also leaves behind grandchildren, Rick Allgood (Kacy), Ashley Gilliam, Matthew Gootee (Ashley), Andrew Allgood (Samantha), Megan Cummings (Paul), Michael Bates (Erika), Brock Bates, Elizabeth Polley (Jon), Emily Pierce (Dylan), Luke Pierce, Jackson Pierce, and Lilly Pierce, great grandchildren, Braden, Madilyn, Emma, Piper, Owen, Lucy, Emmitt, and three on the way, his dear lady friend, Jeanne, his little dog, Maddy, sister-in-law, Charlotte Pierce of St. Petersburg, FL, the mother of his children, Jo Anne Pierce, and many friends.

Jerry was a very interesting man, full of knowledge, who loved sharing stories and his adventures of his long road of life well travelled.  He was a very hard worker, great provider, loving father, husband, and grandpa.  He enjoyed the hummingbirds that frequented his property, politics, and his skill of socializing as he knew no stranger and had a long list of friends.  He loved the Lord and in faith, trusted he’d see Cindy, his friends and family again.

Out of respect to Jerry’s wishes, there are no services.  Arrangements are with West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation through the funeral home.  Online condolences may be made at www.westparrishpedigo.com

My sympathy to all of the Pierce family in the passing of Jerry. He and my husband were CF truck drivers for many years. We have been friends for almost 40 years. Will surely miss him. Now he has gone to be with Cindy and his family and friends. My prayers and thoughts are with you. May God give you comfort in your time of sorrow

Jerry was a longtime friend of mine.  He and I worked together many years at CF and was so valuable to our company.  More than that, I valued his friendship and will certainly miss him.  To the family, you have my sympathy.
